Frequently Asked Questions Why Samantha's Closet You? Samantha's Closet is your source for premier lace hair systems, and 100% Virgin Remy hair products. We are fully committed and dedicated to providing excellent customer service. Our prices are comparable while our quality surpasses any other retailer in the industry. What is a lace hair system? A lace hair system is also known as a lace wig. Its name is derived from the base of the wig which ours is 100% Swiss lace. With a lace hair system, each strand of hair is implanted into the base and hand tied. This gives the illusion of the hair growing from the scalp. This also allows the user to part the hair system anywhere she wishes. Are lace wigs for me? Yes, Yes, Yes! Lace wigs are for everyone! Because they are so natural looking, many people who suffer from hair loss due to illness or various forms of alcopecia wear them. But they are becoming so popular, that those just wanting to change or enhance their look without compromising the integrity of their natural hair are choosing to wear them. Lace wig vs Regular wig? There is really no comparison. A lace wig is light weight breathable and most of all natural looking. No one will know you are wearing a lace wig unless you tell them. Even then, they may not believe you. A regular wig is bulky and tends to be unnatural looking. Regular wigs have that notorious look of the “wig hump” that sits on the top of the wig. With lace wigs there is no hump, the base is flat and natural and so is the hair system. We believe the best part of wearing a lace hair system is its parting capability. Being able to part the lace hair system anywhere is far superior to even the best weaves! What is so special about the Indian Remy Hair used in your hair systems and wefts? Our 100% Virgin Indian Remy hair is simply the best hair money can buy! This hair comes from a single donor and great measures were taken to ensure the hair has not been chemically processed before accepting it. Each strand goes in the same direction and the cuticles are healthy and intact. This completely eliminates tangling! Our hair is healthy and natural looking and does not have that “fake shine” that other cheap hair brands have. Can I apply it myself? Lace hair systems can and should be applied by the person wearing it. Full written instructions will come with your unit, but if this is your first time wearing a lace hair system it is easy to apply, but it does take some getting used to before mastering. Can I apply the units any other ways without using tapes or adhesives? Applying tapes or adhesives around the hairline is the most natural looking way of applying the lace hair system, although they can be applied behind the hairline and secured with pins or sewing it onto small cornrows. If you are going to be wearing the system behind the hairline, you would check ¾ cap design on the order form. This cap allows you to leave some of your natural hair out around the front hairline and blend it into the hair system. Is my hair too long for lace wigs? Lace wigs can accommodate all lengths of hair. They are especially great if you want to change your texture or color without the use of chemical treatments. But if your hair is long and or thick you may have to take special measures to get your hair flat. Hard molds and cornrows are great options for flattening your hair. Be sure to measure your head in the manner in which you will wear your hair system to ensure a good fit. If on the other hand, you just wish to add length or thickness to your own hair with the same color and texture you may like to try our 100% Remy Hair Wefts. Do I have to stay within my natural texture? Absolutely not! That is the beauty of wearing a lace hair system. No matter what texture you choose to wear it will look natural. But keep in mind that if you are wearing a ¾ cap or the weft hair and some of your hair will be exposed it is generally a good idea to match the hair with your own. I live a busy lifestyle; will my unit hold up to swimming, exercise, and dance? Yes it will. The strength of the bond will depend on a combination of what adhesive is used, how oily the skin is, how long the unit has been in place and weather conditions. What if I would like a color or texture not shown on your website? We can make custom orders according to your requirements. Simply go onto create custom order page and click upload to upload a picture of your preferred texture or color. Will your in stock units fit me? In stock units are made with a strap in the back of the lace for a more comfortable fit. It is made to fit a medium head size which will fit approximately 80% of individuals. What density is right for me? Density is a matter of personal choice and preferred look. Medium light to medium density is more natural. Medium heavy to heavy is more glamorous. I want to order another hair system but I forgot my measurements? Measurements are stored in our system for your convenience. You may also make changes to a previous order and place another order with our system. How do I Choice the Lace Color? You want to match the lace color with your scalp complexion not your skin tone. This is because when you part the unit, you want it to appear as your natural scalp color. So to check your scalp color - part your hair and look at the color of your scalp to determine your lace color. Follow These Guidelines - Lace Choice Color: Transparent: For White, Off White or Cream scalp tones. Ie. Beyonce, Jessica Simpson, etc. Light Beige or Beige: For Light Beige or Beige scalp tones. Ie: Ciara Light Brown: For Light Brown scalp tones. Ie. Mia Brown: For Dark Brown scalp tones. Ie. Naomi Campbell What is Machine Weft Hair? Machine Weft are machine tied and are thicker and can be bonded in. Straight hair on machine wefts can be used for adding length and fullness to desired style. Great for full weaves, individual extensions (tracks) and ponytails. What is Handtied Weft Hair? Handtied wefts are much smaller and thinner than machine wefts. They will lay flat against your scalp to give you a more natural look and significantly reduce hair bumps caused by bulky wefts . This wefts allows a more secure, natural and undetectable weave. Each weft is hand knotted with 100% Remy hair. This is a good product if you are trying to achieve a straight smooth, freshly permed look. |
